GIANCARLO GIANNINI, PRESIDENT OF JURY
Giancarlo Giannini (born 1 August 1942) is an Italian actor and voice actor. He won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor for his performance in Love and Anarchy (1973) and received an Academy Award nomination for Seven Beauties (1975). He is also a four-time recipient of the David di Donatello Award for Best Actor.
Giannini began his career on stage, starring in Franco Zeffirelli's productions of Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream. After appearing predominantly on television throughout the early 1960s, he had his first lead role in a film in Rita the Mosquito (1965), the first of many collaborations with filmmaker Lina Wertmüller. He rose to international stardom through Wertmüller's The Seduction of Mimi (1972), Love and Anarchy (1973), Swept Away (1974), culminating in his Oscar-nominated turn in Seven Beauties (1975).[1]
His other films include The Innocent (1976), Lili Marleen (1980), New York Stories (1990), A Walk in the Clouds (1995), Man on Fire (2004), and the James Bond films Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008). He is also a dubbing artist, contributing voice work to the Italian-language versions of dozens of films since the 1960s.He has been the official Italian dubber of Al Pacino since 1975, and has also dubbed Jack Nicholson, Michael Douglas, and Helmut Berger. On the 6th of March 2023, he received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame in Los Angeles.
NERI MARCORE'
Neri Marcore is ‘le Marche’, Porto Sant'Elpidio. He made his debut in the world of entertainment on Rai’s broadcast: in 1990 he was in the cast of ‘Stasera mi Butto’, conducted by Gigi Sabani. Immediately after and he was in Ricomincio da Due alongside Raffaella Carrà. He studied acting and dubbing for several years, and then later on made his debut on the big screen in 1994 with Piero Natoli's ‘Ladri di Cinema’, in competition at the Venice Film Festival. It is thanks to TV that Marcorè gains national fame. In 1997 he works in the ‘Pippo Chennedy Show’, with Corrado and Sabina Guzzanti followed by ‘La posta del Cuore’ in 1999. In January 2001 he is among the protagonists of the new, hilarious Raidue broadcast,‘L’ottavo nano’.In 2003 he further established himself in cinema: in fact he was directed by Pupi Avati in Il Cuore Altrove, obtaining a nomination for Best Actor at the David di Donatello and winning the ‘Nastro d’Argento’. Marcorè is a brilliant interpreter, who manages to give his best especially in front of the camera. He was also directed by Davide Ferrario alongside Luciana Littizzetto in ‘If I have to be sincere ‘(2004). Later on, Pupi Avati would cast him again for ‘The second wedding night’ (2005) and ‘Friends of the Margherita’ (2009). He also starred in Roberto Cimpanelli's comedy ‘Baciami piccina’ and in Claudio Cupellini's ‘Lezioni di cioccolato’. After a small part in the international thriller ‘The Tourist’, in 2010 he co-starred with Stefano Accorsi in the film ‘Tous les soleils’ by Philippe Claudel.Two other appearances in French cinema are in ‘Asterix & Obelix in the service of Her Majesty’ by Laurent Tirard and ‘Tout la haut’ by Serge Hazanavicous. In 2012 he starred in ‘The Disappearance of Patò’ and in 2013 in Sergio Rubini's film ‘Mirifaccio vivo’.There are also many TV series and films where Neri Marcorè starred in, among the most important titles are, ‘Papa Luciani’ (2006), ‘All crazy for love’ (2008), ‘This love of ours’(2012-2016) and ‘Il santone’ (2022).Among the most recent interpretations on the big screen we have, ‘Have you ever been to the Moon?’, ‘I can stop when I want’ , a trilogy, ‘You only die when you live’ and ‘Boys and Quando’, released March 30th. A few months ago, he made his debut as director and author in the film ‘Zamora’, which is scheduled for release in autumn, this year.
NATHALIE POZA
Nathalie Poza was trained as an actress at the Cristina Rota School in Madrid. She is trilingual in Spanish, French and English.
She has participated in projects of prestigious filmmakers (Pedro Almodóvar, Gracia Querejeta, Álvaro Fernández Armero, or Cesc Gay, among others), as well as with directors of significant international recognition such as Woody Allen in his latest film Rifkin's Festival.
Likewise, Nathalie has been recognized for her work in the films with renowned directors such as Alejandro Amenábar in Mientras Dure La Guerra –for which she was nominated for Actress in a Supporting Role at the Goya Awards 2020 –; Icíar Bollaín in La Boda De Rosa –she received the Biznaga de Plata for Best Supporting Actress and the Goya Award 2021 for Best Supporting Actress–, Manuel Martín Cuenca in Malas Temporadas –nominated for the Academy Awards in Spain in the Best Leading Actress category–, or with Mariano Barroso in Todas Las Mujeres –for which she was nominated at the Goya Awards for Best Supporting Actress–. She won her first Goya Award for Best Leading Actress for Lino Escalera’s film No Sé Decir Adiós in 2018.
Recently, she premiered the film Honeymoon, directed by Enrique Otero, at the Malaga Film Festival.
With regard to theater, in 1996 she co-founded the Company ‘Ración Oreja’, which later merged with Andrés Lima’s Company ‘Riesgo’. She thus became a member of the ‘Animalario Company’ performing works such as Titus Andronicus ─for which she won the Actor’s Union Award for Best Supporting Actress in Theater and the Villa de Madrid Award for Best Actress ─. Some of her latest theatre works are Prostitución, by Andrés Lima; and Open Sky and Fires, both directed by José María Pou.
She has starred in nomerous TV series, for instance La Unidad (Movistar+) –for which she has received numerous awards– and Historias Para No Dormir (Amazon Prime Video).
RICHARD ANCONINA
A multi-talented chameleonic actor, Richard Anconina made his film debut in ‘Le Bar du telephone’ and then won against the Montand-Deneuve-Depardieu trio in Alain Corneau's ‘Le Choix desarmes’ and ‘Le Battant’, where he starred alongside Alain Delon. In 1984, his interpretation opposite Coluche of the endearing little neighbourhood dealer in‘Tchao Pantin’ by Claude Berri, enabled him to be the first actor to win the Césars for Best Newcomer and Best Supporting Actor for the same role. At the end of the 1980s, he starred in Claude Lelouch's ‘l'Itinéraire d'un enfant gâté’, for which he received the Interpretation Prize at the Chicago Festival and a nomination for the César for Best Actor. His face-to-face with Jean-Paul Belmondo will remain engraved in the history of cinema. In 1997, Thomas Gilou offered him ‘La Vérité si je mens’. The film and its two sequels will be huge successes that will attract a total of 17 million viewers. We will later see him for the first time at the theatre in the play ‘Coupable’, one of the greatest theatrical successes of 2022, at the Marigny theatre as well as on tour.
